While a commercial bar has a long checklist to do, for a home bar or private bar the checklist will be reduced, it will be depend on your design and budget. One such rule is the existence for at least a sink in a commercial bar. For home bar these may or may not be needed.

Plumbing are needed if you make a commercial bar because you need to have a sink on it. for private bar this is optional. If you don’ want to spend extra money on plumbing you can buy a portable sink which you can connect it to the nearest water hose.
Portable sink is perfect for an open bar but for indoor bar there are style matter so you may want to reconsider it for your bar designs.
Make a room for back bar on your bar designs. On a home bar this is a liquor cabinet and on a commercial bar this is a liquor display. This is a good part of the bar where you can show off your collection. Back bar also function as a decoration because of it. For seating, choose bar stools that emphasis comfort and stability.
